With a match record of 0-2 to kick off pool play at the 2016 Olympics, the USA men's volleyball team might have lost all hope. Down 0-2 in bronze-medal match versus Russia, the team might once again have figured its chance at an Olympic medal over.
But with massive contributions from four-time Olympian Reid Priddy, who came in off the bench to contribute 17 kills and an ace, the USA men took the bronze 23-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-19, 15-13. Matt Anderson lead the match in kills with 18, while Max Holt once again came up big behind the service line with three aces.
The win marks the first Olympic medal for USA men's volleyball since the gold in Beijing.
