Fall brings colder temperatures but it also brings the start of the college volleyball season. 

The CAA volleyball season kickoff on Aug.30 and is sure to be jammed pack with excitement for volleyball fans.

Charleston Volleyball went 11-7 in conference in 2023 and made it to the first round of the CAA Volleyball Championship. 

Senior Tynley Smeltzer, the 2023 CAA Libero of the Year, appeared in all 30 matches in 2023, pacing the team with 424 digs and 3.96 digs per set. The Savannah, Ga., product had 10-plus digs in 20 contests, including the final 19 matches and recorded her 1,000th career dig in the CAA Quarterfinals.

Smeltzer and graduate student Allie Holland were named Preseason All-CAA while graduate student Emily Banitt earned CAA Preseason honorable mention. Charleston is one-of-two schools to have multiple All-CAA selections and an honorable mention, joining Delaware.

Despite only making it to the first round of the CAA volleyball playoffs in 2023, the Cougars are projected to finish third in the conference.
