Opening week of Division 2 volleyball created a lot of movement in the polls with some shocking results and incredible upsets. 

Defending national champions Cal State LA fall to No.11.after a rough 2-2 start to the season. Regis falls to No. 24 from No. 13 after starting out the season 1-3. Similarly, previously ranked No. 14 Lewis falls to No. 23 as they start the season 2-2.

Meanwhile teams like Cal Poly Pomona and Ferris State surprise, starting the season 4-0 and 3-0 respectively, as they catapult to No. 10 and No. 12 in the polls from their respective places of No. 21 and No. 18 to start the season. 

The former, Cal Poly Pomona, even received five first place votes as they really had a hot and dominating start toe season, taking three ranked teams down and dropping only two sets in their four wins. They are not the only ones to surprise as numerous teams start the season on a roll.
