No, she won't be in Rio this summer for the Olympics. But you can still get your Misty May-Treanor fix closer to home.

The winningest -- and most popular -- woman to ever step on the sand will return to beach volleyball action this weekend at the AVP New Orleans Open, the AVP announced Monday on Twitter. May-Treanor will be teaming up with Jenny Kropp for the tournament. It's the first time the two have paired together.

May-Treanor, 38, last competed in September at the AVP Huntington Beach Open, finishing third with partner Brittany Hochevar. She also competed at the AVP's tour stop in Seattle last season. New Orleans is the first stop of 2016, so this is an indication that we could be seeing more of May-Treanor this year.

The California native is, of course, known for her dominance with partner Kerri Walsh Jennings. The pair won gold in the Olympics three times, the most ever by a duo. They are the most dominant twosome in beach volleyball history. Walsh Jennings and new partner April Ross are currently trying to qualify for this summer's Olympics on the FIVB circuit.

May-Treanor retired from competition after the 2012 Olympics, but made those two appearances in the AVP last season with Hochevar. She has made more than $2 million in winnings over her 16 years on the beach with a record 112 tournament victories.
