Only a day after tying the Pan Am Cup record for aces in a match set by Nicole Branagh in 2002, Micha Hancock took it up another notch. Against Costa Rica last night, Hancock served 11 aces, besting even the single-match ace record she set while in college at Penn State.
Hancock’s aggressive serving, along with nine points from Kelsie Payne, helped lift Team USA to a 25-16, 25-10, 25-18 victory over Costa Rica. The U.S. team competing in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is undefeated in the Pan Am Cup and will play Argentina tonight to conclude pool play.
