With a little over two weeks remaining until the start of the Rio Olympics indoor volleyball competition, the FIVB has released updated world rankings.
The latest results from the Women's World Grand Prix and Men's World League were used to calculate the new rankings, but not much has changed.
The USA women retain their top ranking, despite losing to Brazil in the World Grand Prix Finals, and Brazil only climbed one spot, to No. 2, after its victory. Former second-ranked China fell to No. 3. The Netherlands had the most to celebrate, rocketing to No. 11 from 15th thanks to its bronze-medal performance at World Grand Prix.
All but one Rio-bound women's team appears in the top 20. Cameroon clocks in at No. 28.

In the new men's rankings, the top six teams retained their rankings, with Olympics host Brazil clocking in at No. 1 and USA at No. 5. World League winner Serbia, who did not qualify for Rio, failed to advance from its No. 9 ranking. Germany and Bulgaria traded places, with Germany moving up to No.7 and Bulgaria falling to No. 8.
The only Rio-bound men's team outside the top 20 is Mexico, which ranks 26th.
