It's one thing to pull off an upset on the road. It is another entirely to sweep a team ranked in the top 10 and to hold them to eight points in one of those sets.

But that is exactly what the Oregon Ducks did on Friday night in Washington's Alaska Airlines Arena. The Ducks earned their quarter of the top spot in the Pac-12 with a 25-21, 25-8, 25-22 demolition of the Huskies squad.

The defeat marked the first time Washington has been swept at home since September 2011. The Huskies collected only 29 kills to Oregon's 49 and hit .131 to Oregon's .343.

Oregon had not beaten Washington since 2012, the year the Ducks stormed all the way to the national championship match. In 2012, All-American Alaina Bergsma led the Oregon squad, but this year the offense is more balanced. Willow Johnson, Taylor Agost, Jolie Rasmussen, and Ronkia Stone all have over 100 kills for the season, while Lindsey Vander Weide leads the team with 261. Against Washington, Vander Weide put away 14 kills, and outstanding Ducks libero Amanda Benson led the match with 22 digs.

Washington head coach Keegan Cook managed to stay positive after the match.

"Congratulations to the Ducks, they were outstanding in serve and receive, and when they do that they're one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the country," he said. "So a lot of credit to them. I loved our response in the third set, after being at the lowest of lows after the second set, to respond and have a competitive third set says a lot about our kids."

Oregon will take on Washington State Sunday at 11 a.m. PT. Washington's next outing will be Sunday versus Oregon State at 3 p.m. PT.
