A5 17 Ping
is fresh off a campaign that saw it win 16 Open titles at the USA Volleyball and AAU national championships in 2016. Six-foot-6 Middle Alexis Ratliff returns this season after missing her 16s year due to a knee injury, but A5 will be without Ashley Cruise, a 6-1 opposite, who moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in the offseason.

Cruise joined the Carolina Juniors club, and she’ll pair with North Carolina Gatorade State Volleyball Player of the Year Taylor Rowland, a 6-2 outside hitter and Auburn commit, to give the 17 Brian squad a formidable roster.

Arizona’s East Valley Juniors claimed the runner-up spot at 16 Open USAV Girls’ Junior National Championships last year and will once again feature 5-11 outside Darian Clark (a Cal commit) and 6-3 middle Lexi Johnson (an Indiana commit).

Tstreet 17 Naseri was a 16 Open GJNC semifinalist last year and will be led back to prominence once again by a trio of Division I commits: 6-4 middle Karson Bacon (Oregon), 6-5 setter/opposite Courtney Buzzerio (Indiana), and 6-2 outside Katie Lukes (San Diego).

Minnesota-bound outside Adanna Clark will be scoring plenty of points for a high-powered TAV 17 Black crew that advanced all the way to the 16 Open USAV semifinals last year.

The ASICS Colorado Crossroads Qualifier kicks off bid-hunting season, March 10-12, in Denver, and the Northern Lights Qualifier wraps things up in Minneapolis, April 28-30. The USAV National Championships are June 30-July 3 in Minneapolis. The AAU National Championships are held in Orlando June 19-22.
