USA And Dominican Republic Punch Semifinals Tickets
NORCECA Pan-American Cup defending champion Dominican Republic and the United States finished with undefeated records in pool play and advanced to the semifinal round.
The two most decorated teams in NORCECA Women's Pan-American Cup history punched their tickets to the tournament's semifinals after wrapping up undefeated pool play records on Wednesday in Lima, Peru. The defending champion Dominican Republic earned the top seed after winning all five matches in straight sets and tallying 25 points, while the United States, which has won the Pan-Am Cup gold medal three out of the last five years, earned the second seed out of pool play with a 5-0 record and 23 total points.

Puerto Rico, Peru, Cuba, and Argentina also advanced out of pool play. Puerto Rico, which finished second in Pool A with a 4-1 record, will face Cuba, which finished third in Pool B with a 3-2 record, in the quarterfinals. Pool A's third-place finisher, Argentina (3-2), will take on Pool B's second-place finisher, Peru (3-2).
The teams have one day off to rest, and then competition picks up again on Friday, June 23, with the quarterfinals and the classification matches for the teams that finished third and fourth in pool play.
