From the moment Lauren Carlini picked up a volleyball for the first time in kindergarten, her career has been full of accolades, record-breaking performances, and incredible achievements. As the top recruit in her graduating class, Carlini became a four-time All-American setter at Wisconsin and made an appearance in the NCAA championship match.

Here are some of the highlights so far of a career that is far from over.

2000: Started playing volleyball as a kindergartener.

2007: Gave up softball in seventh grade to focus on volleyball full time.

March 2010: Made verbal commitment to Wisconsin

May 2010: Made preliminary U.S. girls' youth national team roster for Youth Olympics

August 2011: Competed with U.S. girls' youth national team at Youth World Championship in Turkey

November 2012: Named Chicago Sun Times Player of the Year

December 2012: Kelly Sheffield hired to replace Pete Waite as Wisconsin head coach

December 2012: Won National Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year Award

June 2013: Won AAU 18 Open National Championship with Mizuno Sports Performance team, earning MVP and her fourth AAU All-American honor

August 2013: Played in first college match (a 3-2 victory over Northern Iowa in which she racked up 52 assists and six kills)

December 2013: Led Wisconsin to NCAA championship match, finishing runner-up and earning second-team All-American honors and Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

October 2016: Surpassed the 5,000 career assists mark in match versus Rutgers
