Casey Patterson And Stafford Slick Joining Forces For 2018
Just over a week after being dumped by Theo Brunner, Casey Patterson announced he will play with Stafford Slick for the 2018 beach volleyball season.
The Paul Mitchell sponsorship division must be loving beach volleyball's newest team. Casey Patterson announced via Instagram that he and Stafford Slick will pair up for the 2018 season.
The suave hawk-sporting Patterson played with Theo Brunner in 2017, taking two thirds on the AVP tour and finishing in fourth place at the FIVB Rio de Janeiro Four Star event, but just last week John Hyden announced that he and Brunner would join forces next year, leaving Patterson without a partner.
Slick, a 6-foot-8 blocker from Minnesota, who was famous for his luscious long blonde hair until he cut it all off in 2015, paired with Billy Allen throughout the 2017 season and had his best year yet on the AVP tour, bringing home over $34,000 in prize money and winning the title at the AVP Seattle Open.
This announcement of the Slick-Patterson partnership quells rumors that we could expect to see a reunion between Patterson and Hyden's 2017 partner Ryan Doherty. Patterson and Doherty played together in 2012, and the pair won the NVL Preakness tournament in Baltimore.
