Meet The 2017 Under Armour All-Americans: Jaden Whitmarsh
Jaden Whitmarsh didn’t inherit her father’s height. But in the 5-8 outside hitter, you can see a lot of Mike Whitmarsh.
Jaden Whitmarsh didn’t inherit her father’s height, but in the 5-foot-8 outside hitter you can see a lot of Mike Whitmarsh, a 6-7 professional beach volleyball player and Olympic silver medalist who passed away in 2009.
Jaden is explosive, passionate, graceful, and competitive.
For Torrey Pines High School, in her final season of indoor volleyball before taking to the sand full-time at UCLA, Whitmarsh led the team with 408 kills and 303 digs, playing a big part in TP’s CIF San Diego Section Open Division championship victory.

In Torrey Pines’ five-set loss to Mater Dei in the CIF Open Division state semifinals, Whitmarsh led the team with 20 kills and 20 digs, hitting .308.
Over the summer, Whitmarsh played in her first professional beach volleyball tournament, the AVP Manhattan Beach Open. She and her partner Pippa Monk-Heidrich won their first round match in the qualifier before falling to Bre Moreland and recent USC beach volleyball grad Allie Wheeler.
Despite her commitment to play beach volleyball in college and then pursue a professional career in the sand, Whitmarsh is a phenomenal indoor volleyball player, and she’ll have one more chance to show off her skills at the 2017 Under Armour All-America Match.
