Torrey Pines' Comeback Made Mater Dei Head Coach Dan O'Dell Nervous
In the SoCal Open Division regional championship match, Mater Dei won the first two sets and had a 20-13 lead in the third, but Torrey Pines refused to lose. The Falcons rallied back to win set three 25-22, and then take the fourth 25-23.
In the fifth set, Torrey Pines shot out to an early lead, but as you'll hear in this interview with Mater Dei head coach Dan O'Dell, the Monarch bench knew that soon Torrey Pines' two best hitters would rotate into the back row and they would have their chance to make a run.
And so they did, winning the match 15-11, and advancing into the CIF Open Division state championship match.
Tune in right here on FloVolleyball on Saturday, December 2, at 6:30 PM PT, to watch Mater Dei take on NorCal champion Archbishop Mitty in the CIF Open Division State Championship.
