USA Hammers Thailand For Seventh Straight Win
Make that seven straight victories and 21 consecutive sets without a loss for the Americans.
The U.S. Women's National Team continued to roll on Thursday in Bangkok, hammering host Thailand in straight sets (25-10, 25-22, 25-16) to improve to 8-1 in Volleyball Nations League play.
“The win is good, but we know this is a very long tournament,” said head coach Karch Kiraly. “We are three weeks into the Volleyball Nations League, but we have a very difficult week coming up with Russia, Brazil and China. So it is important to conserve our energy.”
Safe to say they had no trouble doing that in Thailand, where the group was never challenged by any of its trio of opponents in this pool.
In the final game of the week, Jordan Larson led the USA offensive attack with 15 points on nine kills, four aces and two blocks. Outside hitter Kim Hill was a model of efficiency, with 13 kills on 18 swings.
Things figure to get a bit more difficult next week, beginning with Tuesday's meeting with Russia, LIVE on FloVolleyball.
