Americans Complete Epic Comeback vs. Japan

The U.S. Men's National Team, fresh off of a 25-13 disaster of a second set, inserted a quartet of a reserves and stormed back to stun Japan, 3-2, and improve to 4-0 in Volleyball Nations League play in Goiânia, Brazil, on Friday.

Ben Patch, Kawika Shoji, Thomas Jaeschke and Taylor Averill were integral to the Americans' comeback. Patch, in particular, finished with 14 kills and a block in relief of Matt Anderson.

“That was a really important win for us,” Patch said. “I think it shows each and every one of us on our team and our coaching staff that it’s going to take a team effort to win a game.

The U.S. men still have not lost a match to Japan since 1993.

Next up for Team USA is a showdown with Korea at 9:10 AM (CT) LIVE on FloVolleyball.
