Set Win Streak Ends, But USA Keeps Rolling In Win Over Brazil
Someone finally beat the U.S. Women’s National Team.
Oh, no, sorry. Not in a match. Don’t be ridiculous.
Brazil took the second set from the Americans on Wednesday, snapping a record 25-set win streak. No matter, Team USA cruised past the fourth-ranked Brazilians from there to win its ninth straight match, 3-1, and run its record to 10-1 in VNL play.
Four Americans—Lauren Gibbemeyer, Jordan Larson, Foluke Akinradewo and Kim Hill—reached double figures in scoring.
Brazil had won 10 of the last 12 world-level tournament matches against the United States.
The first-place Americans, ranked No. 2 in the world, will end the week with another matchup—this one against top-ranked China at 6:30 AM CT on Thursday, LIVE on FloVolleyball.
