It was an all-Club Fusion battle in the 17 Open championship match at the JVA Midwest Challenge in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 8, 2016. Fusion 17 Black and Fusion 17 Red faced off in the final match of the division. Led by 17 Red outside hitter Grace Loberg and 17 Black outside hitter Kaylee Martin, both teams showed off their high-powered offenses in this 2-0 victory for 17 Red.
