Professional Contracts Begin to Pour in for NCAA Volleyball Stars

Many NCAA Division I women's volleyball players graduate in December after the conclusion of their senior season. Whether they redshirted a season and were able to complete their degrees without that final spring semester or took summer classes in anticipation of the benefits of graduating one semester early, many of these athletes are already beginning to think about how and where they will continue their volleyball careers.

With the graduation of Nebraska outside hitter Kelsey Fien at the conclusion of the 2015 season in which the Huskers won the national championship, there was a position up for grabs in the Nebraska starting line-up. A position which was eventually filled by Andie Malloy, a transfer from Baylor.

With 18 kills from National Freshman of the Year Kathryn Plummer and 16 from redshirt senior leader and tournament Most Outstanding Player Inky Ajanaku, Stanford defeated Texas 3-1 to win the 2016 NCAA Division I women's volleyball championship.
